Tudor Ulianovschi discussed in Davos with the Minister of International Trade Diversification of Canada

25 of January 2019, Davos - The dynamisation of Moldovan-Canadian relations on all dimensions and Canada's proposal to reform the World Trade Organization were discussed by Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi with Canada's Minister of International Trade Diversification, James Carr.

In the interlocutors' view, the expansion of bilateral relations, particularly of commercial and economic relations, can be achieved by maximising the potential of the bilateral Agreement on the Promotion and the Safeguarding of Investments (FIPA) signed in the summer of the last year, during the visit of the head of the Moldovan diplomacy to Ottawa. The interlocutors found that in the extension of the commercial-economic cooperation between the two states, a particular importance is given by the provisions of the Free Trade Agreement signed between Canada and the EU, as well as by the opportunities of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union.

In this context, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi urged Canadian companies to examine investment opportunities in the Republic of Moldova, emphasizing the role of IT services and of the digital economy that our country can offer at a global level.
